JOB TITLE: Finishing Operator
 DEPARTMENT: Converting
 REPORTS TO: Supervisor
 CLASSIFICATION: Non-exempt
 SALARY GRADE/LEVEL/RANGE: Hourly $27.06 - $27.72

SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE: This position will be responsible for all slitting operations and gravure laminating of product, identification on finishing requirements, set up of finishing equipment, packaging of completed product, and in-process inspection of product during the slitting and laminating operation. During times when slitting and laminating operations are limited, position will be to aid and assist production with the following roles but not limited to stacking, compounding, Die Set-up if appropriately trained in these operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Effectively manage slitting and gravure laminating operations.
• Set up equipment for slitting and gravure laminating based on documented or written specifications.
• Prepare finished laminated products and deliver to the slitter per documented or written specifications when required.
• Package all finished laminated product or slit material using packaging equipment as identified by documented shipping and or packaging specifications.
• Complete all necessary documentation in a timely and accurate fashion as required by Bixby quality requirements.
• Maintain and clean and safe work environment.
• Assist production lines in other capacity when required or directed by supervisor.
• Work in accordance with all company policies and procedures
• Other duties as assigned

COMPETENCY:

• Demonstrated math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication) plus decimals, fractions, and percentages.
• Basic computer skills
• Written and verbal communication skills in English
• Ability to comprehend and follow written and verbal instructions
• Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment
• Self-motivated

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but does serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the department.

• Ability to frequently lift-up to 50 lbs.
• Prolonged standing or sitting while performing job function
• Repeated bending and twisting when stacking sheets
• Good hand-eye coordination.
• Must be able to distinguish between colors.

POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK: Full-Time, 3rd shift, Monday thru Friday, some weekends are required. Overtime can be expected.

TRAVEL: No travel is expected for this position.

EDUCATION: High school education or equivalent preferred; however, three years in manufacturing environment is acceptable

EXPERIENCE: A minimum of one-year manufacturing is preferred.
