Cascadia Metals is actively seeking candidates for the position of Truck Driver, to work at our Calgary branch. This role involves the packaging of orders, building skids, general housekeeping, etc. This position does NOT require experience. However, preference will be given to those with warehousing and steel experience. Forklift experience is preferred but not mandatory

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Accurately complete standard driver's daily logbooks in compliance with Alberta regulations.
  • Conduct and document pre-trip inspections; complete necessary paperwork for monthly inspections.
  • Perform daily trips without overnight requirements; flexibility with working hours, including potential overtime, is essential.
  • Schedule services and repairs, obtain quotes and lead times as needed.
  • Maintain truck consumable stock and cleaning supplies; notify the Lead-Hand when replenishment is required.
  • Foster a team-oriented environment and report to the Operations Manager and Branch Manager.
  • Understand and manage bills of lading and shipping manifests.
  • Vehicle Cleanliness: Regularly clean the truck using pressure washers and hand cleaners.

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Assist with loading and unloading trucks; complete paperwork for incoming and outgoing materials.
  • Maintain the truck bay, equipment, and overall property upkeep.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Warehouse Lead Hand.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in verbal and written communication is essential.
  • Strong attention to detail with basic computer skills.
  • Previous warehouse and shipping/receiving experience is preferred.
  • Valid forklift license and a Alberta Class 3A driver's license with a minimum of two years' experience.
  • Ability to provide a clean driver's abstract (minimum five years).
  • Safety Gear: Possession of steel-toe boots with a minimum 6" height (no steel-toe shoes).
  • Strong decision-making, problem-solving abilities, self-motivation, and the ability to work independently.
