This position plays a key role in maintaining the integrity, safety, and functionality of our property's guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house systems. The ideal candidate will possess a well-rounded technical skillset and a proactive approach to troubleshooting during swing shifts, nights, and weekends.
The hourly wage we reasonably expect to pay for this position is $25.00-$30.00.

Core Functions:
The Shift Engineer I will be responsible for swing shift, night and weekend coverage, therefore must possess strong trouble-shooting skills in all areas of maintenance in guest rooms meeting space, and front of the house areas. The candidate should possess basic knowledge of equipment located in the back-of-house areas including pool, kitchen, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
A strong working knowledge of all major building systems, including life-safety systems, is required for this position. Good communication skills are necessary.
Responsibilities also include:
  • Perform routine maintenance and emergency repairs in guest rooms, public areas, and operational areas
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment across multiple systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and life-safety systems
  • Conduct regular inspections and ensure equipment is functioning safely and efficiently
  • Maintain knowledge of pool systems, kitchen equipment, and general building operations
  • Complete all maintenance requests, work orders, and HotSOS tickets promptly and to Forbes standards
  • Communicate effectively with guests and colleagues, ensuring minimal disruption to operations
  • Support the Engineering team in preventative maintenance programs and special projects
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and Hyatt standards
  • Collaborate cross-departmentally to maintain a seamless guest experience
