Job description

The International Mission Board, a nonprofit religious organization is hiring for a Part-Time Weekend Security Specialist to work on our campus in Rockville, VA!
Hours: 9 PM to 5 AM Friday and Saturdays
Rate: $17.82 - $ 20.96 hourly*
Location: Rockville, VA
As a Security Specialist, you will monitor campus activity, control access to facilities, respond to security-related incidents, and provide exceptional customer service to employees and visitors.
Responsibilities:
  • Monitor campus grounds, buildings, and access points to help maintain a safe and secure environment.
  • Conduct routine patrols of assigned areas
  • Observe and report suspicious activities, safety hazards, and policy violations.
  • Verify identification and issue visitor badges in accordance with security procedures.
  • Screen and assist visitors, contractors, and vendors entering campus property.
  • Respond appropriately to emergencies, alarms, medical incidents, and security concerns.
  • Complete detailed incident and activity reports accurately and promptly.
  • Monitor security systems, cameras, alarms, and communication equipment.
  • Provide excellent customer service by assisting employees, guests, and visitors with questions or directions.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions in stressful situations.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Basic computer proficiency for report writing and security systems.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.
  • No experience required!
