Job Description
The Senior Programmer Analyst - Salesforce ServiceMax Administrator / Developer provides advanced functional and technical expertise within a mature and evolving Salesforce environment. This role works closely with the Salesforce and ServiceMax development team to analyze, design, configure, develop, test, deploy, and support enterprise Salesforce solutions.
The position focuses heavily on Salesforce Experience Cloud, including the development and optimization of external-facing portals, as well as support for Agentforce initiatives through the deployment of virtual agents designed to enhance customer experience. The role requires strong technical depth, a customer-focused mindset, and the ability to deliver scalable, maintainable Salesforce solutions.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and configure Salesforce Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Agentforce, and ServiceMax solutions to support a global user base
  • Ensure all Salesforce development and configuration follows platform best practices, including governor limits, naming conventions, flow design standards, and maintainable architecture patterns
  • Implement complex Salesforce solutions including Apex classes, triggers, Lightning Web Components, Aura components, API integrations, and data models
  • Ensure code quality through unit testing, automated testing strategies, peer reviews, and adherence to development standards
  • Support release management processes including version control, deployment planning, and environment coordination
  • Lead requirements-gathering sessions with product owners, business stakeholders, and end users
  • Translate business needs into functional and technical requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria
  • Take ownership of assigned responsibilities, proactively identifying issues and driving solutions
  • Apply professional technical judgment when working with customers, internal IT teams, and vendors
  • Conduct research and evaluate emerging Salesforce technologies, including AI-driven functionality and Agentforce capabilities
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to deliver solutions on time and within committed scope
  • Provide training and guidance to users and team members as needed
  • Continuously expand knowledge of Salesforce, ServiceMax, Agentforce, and related technologies through certifications and self-directed learning
  • Participate in a shared 24-hour on-call rotation to support production issue resolution

Education Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

Required Experience
  • Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in Salesforce development and administration
  • Extensive experience with Salesforce declarative development, including object modeling, workflow rules, validation rules, page layouts, and translation workbench
  • Strong Force.com development experience including Apex classes, triggers, Visualforce, and controllers
  • Experience developing with Lightning Web Components and Aura Components
  • Experience with Salesforce Experience Cloud (Communities)
  • Active Salesforce Developer certifications required, including Salesforce Administrator or Advanced Administrator, Platform Developer I, and Platform Developer II
  • Experience writing functional requirements and associated test cases

Preferred Experience
  • Experience with ServiceMax
  • Experience with Agentforce configuration and deployment
  • UI and UX design experience within Salesforce Experience Cloud
  • Experience optimizing Experience Cloud sites for mobile devices
  • Understanding of Agile development methodologies
  • Experience supporting enterprise or customer-facing Salesforce implementations

Required Skills and Abilities
  • Strong Salesforce solution architecture skills with knowledge of established design patterns
  • Experience using Salesforce development and deployment tools such as Git and Azure DevOps
  • Ability and willingness to educate and train team members and stakeholders
  • Strong customer service and client-focused mindset
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work across multiple projects simultaneously
