PRN Pharmacist (Hospital amp; Retail) – Rural Location
Location: Hot Springs, Virginia
Facility: Bath Community Hospital amp; Bath Community Pharmacy
Position Type: PRN / As Needed
Setting: Dual – Inpatient Hospital amp; Community Retail Pharmacy
About the Role
Are you a licensed pharmacist seeking flexible hours and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a close-knit, rural community? Bath Community Hospital amp; Bath Community Pharmacy are looking for a skilled PRN Pharmacist to join our team and provide support across both inpatient and retail pharmacy settings.
This position is ideal for pharmacists seeking supplemental hours, recent retirees wanting to stay active in the field, or those interested in gaining experience in a diverse dual-setting role.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide pharmacy services in both inpatient and outpatient settings
  • Interpret and verify physician orders and prescriptions for accuracy and appropriateness
  • Counsel patients on medication use and address medication-related questions
  • Ensure compliance with all state and federal pharmacy regulations
  • Collaborate with medical staff, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
  • Maintain accurate records and uphold best practices in medication safety
Qualifications
  • Active Pharmacist License with the Virginia Board of Pharmacy
  • Experience in hospital and/or retail pharmacy preferred
  • Strong clinical judgment and ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Comfort working in a rural healthcare environment
