Description
Eastern Shawnee Staffing Services is seeking a Family Practice Physician for a long-term contract assignment at Pinon Health Center in Pinon, Arizona. This outpatient and walk-in clinic opportunity offers the chance to provide high-quality care where it is needed most while enjoying a predictable Monday-Friday schedule, competitive compensation, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in an underserved community.
In partnership with Indian Health Service (IHS), we are looking for a physician who is passionate about delivering comprehensive primary care and committed to improving health outcomes for the Navajo Nation. This is an excellent opportunity for providers seeking a rewarding locum assignment in a supportive clinical environment.

What You'll Do
Provide comprehensive primary care services to patients of all ages
Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute illnesses and chronic medical conditions
Conduct patient assessments, physical examinations, and medical histories
Order and interpret laboratory tests, diagnostic studies, and imaging
Prescribe medications and treatment plans in accordance with established clinical guidelines
Deliver preventive care services and patient education
Coordinate specialty referrals through the Patient Referred Care (PRC) process
Collaborate with nurses, pharmacists, behavioral health professionals, and other members of the healthcare team
Maintain timely and accurate documentation within the electronic health record
Follow all IHS clinical, infection control, and patient safety policies
Provide culturally sensitive and patient-centered care
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and support clinic performance goals
Document accurately in the electronic health record (EHR) - RPMS

Requirements
Strong clinical, diagnostic, and decision-making skills

  • Ability to work in fast-paced environments
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development
  • Must be a U.S. citizen residing and working primarily in the United States
  • Experience with Indian Health Service (IHS), Tribal Health, or Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) preferred
  • Experience working in rural or underserved communities strongly preferred
  • Must be able to pass a federal background/security clearance
Qualifications:
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in Family Medicine, Primary Care, Internal Medicine, Urgent Care, or a related outpatient setting
  • Active, unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state or territory
  • Current DEA registration
  • Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
  • Peer and Supervisory references required
  • Proof of education (diploma and/or transcripts) required
