Position Overview:

Seeking an experienced Medical Surgical RN to provide comprehensive nursing care in a fast-paced Med/Surg and MS/Tele unit. The RN will care for adolescent, adult, pediatric, and geriatric patients while collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care.

Job duties:

  • Provide direct nursing care to Medical Surgical and MS/Telemetry patients.
  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
  • Administer medications, including insulin, heparin, and blood products, following physician orders.
  • Initiate, maintain, and monitor peripheral IVs and PICC lines.
  • Monitor patients requiring telemetry and recognize changes in cardiac rhythms.
  • Manage oxygen therapy, including nasal cannula, high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC), and BiPAP/CPAP support.
  • Perform wound care, dressing changes, and ostomy care as needed.
  • Monitor patient conditions and promptly communicate significant changes to the healthcare team.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the Evident electronic medical record.
  • Follow infection prevention protocols, isolation precautions, and PPE guidelines.
  • Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, physical therapy, and other interdisciplinary team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Requirements:
Licensure: Active RN license (must be in hand before start; pending license not accepted)
Experience: 2 years of recent Medical Surgical experience required; 3 years preferred; first-time travelers accepted
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS (PALS may be completed on-site within the first week)
Other requirement: Experience with 1:6 patient ratios preferred. References: 2 required at submission. Background review required. Zero tolerance for THC. Community hospital experience preferred.
