Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Med Surg unit provides skilled nursing care to patients, working 3x12 night shifts. The RN will manage a patient ratio of 1:6, administer medications, monitor patient conditions, and collaborate with the healthcare team. The role requires floating between two Med Surg units and working every other weekend.
Location:Jacksonville, Illinois, United States
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to Med Surg patients.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Monitor and document patient vital signs and conditions.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
- Float between two Med Surg units as needed.
- Start IVs.
- Document patient care in the Cerner system.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in IL or in the application process with ETA.
- Minimum of 1 year of Med Surg experience.
- BLS certification.
- Experience starting IVs.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- ACLS certification.
- Cerner experience.
- Teaching hospital experience.
- Community Hospital experience.
Special Considerations:
- Must be willing to work every other weekend.
- Must be willing to float between two Med Surg units.
- The client may call off up to 36 hours per thirteen-week assignment without pay.
- Time off requests should be discussed with the manager.
Scheduling:
- 3x12 night shifts (1900-0730).
