The unit includes 4 private Labor Delivery Recovery Postpartum suites.
There are 5 additional MedSurg rooms for overflow if the postpartum area is full.
The facility does not have a NICU and has an unstaffed nursery.
If a baby requires a higher level of care, a transfer will be made to an external facility approximately 60 minutes away by car.
There are 2 triage rooms available.
The unit averages approximately 30 births per month.
Required certifications include BLS, ACLS, and NRP, with STABLE preferred.
Patient care ratios will adhere to AWHONN guidelines.
The electronic medical record system used is Epic.
A weekend requirement of every 3rd weekend is set, considering Friday, Saturday, and Sunday as part of the weekend schedule for both days and nights.
There is no call requirement associated with this position.
Holidays will be rotated with permanent staff members.
Scrubs will be provided for staff.
Shifts are from 7 am to 7 pm and from 7 pm to 7 am.
C-sections are performed in the OR, and the RN will assist with recovery alongside the PACU RN if necessary.
No floating to other units is required unless the RN has experience with MedSurg, in which case floating may be possible.
Cancellation policies apply based on the duration of employment.
Required certifications include ACLS, BLS, and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program).
