As a Security Officer - Overnight Weekend Retail Patrol Driver in National City, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed patrol officer at a busy retail and mall location, where you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, remain visible to help deter security-related incidents, and deliver outstanding customer service and communication. This is a driving post, requiring a valid driver’s license, and offers the chance to support people first through teamwork, reliability, agility, innovation, and integrity.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to visitors, tenants, and/or staff by following site-specific procedures, access guidelines, and emergency response activities appropriate for a retail location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting details and communicating with site contacts and/or public emergency personnel when needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout storefront areas, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unwanted activity and identify security-related concerns.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and high-traffic areas for unusual activity, policy violations, and/or maintenance issues, and report observations through the proper chain of communication.
  • Support daily operations by assisting with security-related checks, crowd and line monitoring, and customer inquiries while maintaining a visible presence throughout the location.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
