• Conduct comprehensive and nuanced assessments to identify each client’s unique social, emotional, and environmental challenges, ensuring no detail is overlooked.
• Develop tailored service plans that outline specific goals, interventions, and mechanisms for ongoing progress monitoring, engaging clients throughout the process.
• Provide evidence-based counseling and therapeutic support to individuals and families coping with a variety of life challenges, including emotional distress, psychological disorders, and situational crises.
• Collaboratively create personalized strategies with clients that connect them to community resources, enhancing their ability to access services and support systems.
• Offer immediate crisis intervention, conduct risk assessments, and formulate safety plans as needed to ensure clients’ well-being.
• Work in partnership with community organizations and agencies to coordinate services, advocate for clients effectively, and amplify their voices.
• Participate in community outreach initiatives, raising awareness of agency services and fostering community engagement.
• Engage actively in case conferences, team meetings, and continuous professional development through staff training sessions.

Your primary focus will be on vulnerable populations in Topeka, Kansas, and surrounding areas. You will work with individuals and families enduring significant life hardships, including those impacted by systemic issues such as poverty, mental illness, and domestic violence. Your efforts will help to empower clients to overcome barriers, improve their mental health, and build resilience.

• A Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution is required.
• Possession of an active state license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) is essential.
• Strong familiarity with social justice issues, community resources, and trauma-informed care principles is expected.
• Demonstrated exceptional communication skills, cultural competence, and problem-solving abilities.

• Experience working within a social service agency or healthcare setting is preferred to better understand the complexities of client needs.
• Experience in providing services to diverse populations, showcasing an ability to navigate cultural sensitivities.
• Prior involvement in community outreach and advocacy efforts.
