Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our remote team at Addiction Family Therapy. In this full-time role, you will focus on providing exceptional care to individuals facing mood disorders, such as depression and anxiety, through evidence-based therapeutic techniques.

Work Environment

This position is 100% remote, providing you with the flexibility to work from the comfort of your own home while remaining connected to our supportive team. Regular business hours are Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, allowing for a healthy work-life balance without the pressure of evening or weekend commitments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct detailed assessments to evaluate clients' mood disorder symptoms, focusing on their severity, frequency, and impact on daily functioning.
  • Collaborate exclusively with clients to devise personalized treatment plans, integrating their goals and preferences while employing evidence-based strategies.
  • Utilize effective therapeutic interventions, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to guide clients toward significant improvement in their mental health.
  • Facilitate psychoeducation for clients and their families, discussing treatment options and empowering them with practical self-care strategies.
  • Continuously monitor client progress, reassessing treatment plans and intervention strategies as needed to enhance efficacy.
  • Work integratively with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to provide holistic care, ensuring all aspects of client care are addressed.
  • Stay informed on the latest research in mood disorders to bring innovative approaches to treatment.
  • Maintain exacting documentation of all client interactions, assessments, and treatment plans to ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Engage in team meetings, case consultations, and ongoing training to enhance your clinical capabilities and commitment to best practices in the field.
  • Act as a strong advocate for clients, striving to reduce stigma associated with mood disorders and increasing awareness of mental health issues.
Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with a diverse clientele suffering from various mood disorders, including depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety-related conditions. Our clients come from various backgrounds and experiences, requiring sensitivity and adaptability in your therapeutic approach.

Qualifications
  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.
  • A current and valid state licensure as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT.
  • Proven expertise in evidence-based practices related to mood disorder treatment.
  • A solid understanding of psychopharmacology principles and the ability to communicate effectively with psychiatric colleagues.
  • Experience demonstrating positive therapeutic outcomes with clients coping with mood disorders.
  • Exceptional communication skills and an ability to establish rapport with clients from varying backgrounds and cultures.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience in outpatient therapy settings, particularly in treating mood disorders, is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with teletherapy platforms and technology to facilitate effective remote counseling.
