Job description

We are looking for a responsible, enthusiastic, and customer-oriented individual to assist in operations of our volleyball leagues this year! This includes managing league play, ensuring smooth game day operations, and fostering a positive experience for participants. The League Manager will work closely with the restaurant's staff to create an enjoyable, engaging, and seamless volleyball experience for our guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • League Coordination:
    • Organize and monitor software for scheduling and scoring
    • Ensure team registrations are properly tracked and rosters are up to date.
    • Set up and maintain the volleyball court, including nets, markings, and game equipment.
    • Assist Hiring and management of Referees
  • Game Day Operations:
    • Supervise the flow of games, including match start times and duration.
    • Ensure teams are ready to play at their scheduled times and that games run on time.
    • Handle disputes or issues during games in a professional manner.
    • Monitor the condition of the volleyball courts and equipment, reporting any maintenance needs.
    • Referee games
  • Communication:
    • Regularly communicate with league participants regarding schedules, game changes, and league updates.
    • Create a welcoming and fun environment for all players.
  • Customer Service:
    • Interact with players before, during, and after the games, ensuring their satisfaction.
    • Address player concerns, issues, or complaints professionally and promptly.
    • Ensure compliance with league policies by preventing underage drinking and prohibiting outside alcohol and food from being brought into the venue.
    • Maintain cleanliness of space
    • Assist in restaurant operations as needed, including but not limited to: maintenance, cleaning, ordering, and service of guests.
  • Assist with Tournaments and Fundraisers (as needed):
    • Assist in planning and running volleyball tournaments or fundraisers during off-league hours (Fridays and Saturdays).

Required Availability:

  • Contracted through the Fall - possibility to be extended
  • Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday Night Availability
  • The majority of shifts will be nights and weekends.
  • Flexibility to assist with special events, such as tournament fundraisers or reservations.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in managing events or sports leagues is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be highly organized and able to multitask effectively.
  • Ability to resolve conflicts and manage customer concerns in a positive and professional manner.
  • Must be able to work evenings and weekends as required.
  • Must have previous volleyball referee experience

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to set up and take down volleyball equipment (climb ladders, handle net, poles, etc.).
  • Ability to remain on your feet for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry a multitude of objects up to 50 lbs.

Compensation:

  • $30/hour
  • Free meal during shifts up to $25.
  • PTO
