Position Overview
The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) provides direct one-on-one Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). RBTs implement individualized treatment plans, collect behavioral data, teach communication and daily living skills, and support participants in reaching meaningful goals across home, school, and community environments.
This role requires compassionate professionals who are patient, dependable, adaptable, and committed to providing high-quality, person-centered care while maintaining professionalism and regulatory compliance.

What You'll Do
Direct Behavioral Therapy
  • Provide one-on-one ABA therapy using evidence-based behavioral strategies.
  • Implement individualized Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) developed by the supervising BCBA.
  • Deliver engaging, play-based, and skill-building instruction tailored to each participant.
  • Reinforce positive behaviors while promoting independence and confidence.
  • Build trusting relationships with participants and their families.


Skill Development
Support participants in developing skills including:

Behavior Support
  • Implement behavior reduction and replacement strategies.

  • Support participants with severe behavioral challenges using approved intervention techniques.

Data Collection & Documentation
  • Collect accurate behavioral data during every session.
  • Maintain participant records in accordance with treatment plans.
  • Complete daily session notes and required documentation.
  • Monitor participant progress and communicate observations to the supervising BCBA.
  • Maintain confidentiality and documentation in accordance with HIPAA and company policies.

Collaboration & Professional Development
  • Participate in participant assessments and treatment planning.
  • Collaborate with BCBAs, supervisors, families, teachers, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Attend required meetings, supervision sessions, and ongoing trainings.
  • Maintain required certifications and professional competencies.
  • Support A Bright Future's participant-centered philosophy in all interactions.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, Child Development, Education, Communication Disorders, Human Services, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience implementing behavior intervention services with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
  • Experience supporting individuals with severe challenging behaviors.
  • Experience providing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services.
  • Knowledge of California Regional Center services, DDS, and person-centered practices preferred.
  • Experience working within home, school, or community-based settings.

Minimum Requirements
Applicants must:
  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Possess excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and decision-making skills.
  • Be able to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability.
  • Be willing to work with participants who may display physically, verbally, or behaviorally challenging behaviors.
  • Possess a valid California driver's license, reliable transportation, current registration, and automobile insurance.
  • Be willing and able to travel throughout assigned service areas to provide services in participants' homes, schools, and community settings.
  • Successfully complete a DOJ/FBI criminal background check and drug screening.
  • Obtain TB clearance
  • Maintain current CPR &First Aid certification
  • Maintain all personnel certifications, clearances, and documentation required by licensing agencies, DDS, and Regional Centers.


Physical Requirements
This position regularly requires the ability to:
 
  • Sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, and move throughout therapy sessions.
  • Lift and carry up to 40 pounds when necessary.
  • Participate in floor play and active learning activities.
  • Respond quickly during behavioral situations to ensure participant safety.
  • Drive between participant homes, schools, community settings, and company offices.
  • Communicate effectively with participants, caregivers, supervisors, and community partners.
