JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Registered Behavior Technician
REPORTS TO: Director of Special Education
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The RBT is a paraprofessional who practices under the close, ongoing supervision of a district Board Certified Behavior Analyst. This individual is primarily responsible for the direct implementation of behavior analytic strategies, behavioral intervention plans and data collection as developed by the BCBA.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Registered Behavior Technician Credential
  • 1+ years of experience preferred
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance
  • Works 1-on-1 with students utilizing principles Applied Behavior
Analysis methodologies and implementing strategies stated in his/her Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP).
  • Prepares materials as necessary for implementing individualized program as stated above.
  • Operate within the parameters of HIPPA, FERRPA, BACB Code of Ethics, IDEA and the school district policies on confidentiality.
  • Work across schools and classrooms collaboratively with regular and special education teachers as assigned.
  • Provide direct behavior supports to students in 1:1 and group settings.
    Implement student behavior intervention plans (BIP), educational plans, and activities of daily living under the supervision of the BCBA and special education case manager, to assist students with utilizing appropriate behaviors and decreasing maladaptive behaviors.
  • Records quality behavioral data to monitor individual's progress and report any progress or regression in attaining objectives of educational plans to the BCBA and case manager.
  • Participates in professional development training programs, as required.
  • Exhibits a clear understanding of the IEP information as it pertains to their role as an implementer.
  • Attend regular supervision sessions with supervising BCBA.
  • Maintain appropriate RBT certification and trainings as it is related to the position.
  • Serves as an active member of the Special Education Triage Team
  • Attends IEP meeting as appropriate
  • Provides guidance and support to local school staff regarding behavior interventions and implementation of behavior plans
  • Assists BCBA with the development of crisis intervention plans as appropriate
  • Performs all other duties as assigned by appropriate administrators
