Responsibilities
Schedule:
Monday - Friday, within the core clinic hours of 0600 to 1800
Shift Structure: A flexible schedule, including 10-hour shifts, will be assigned by the Government supervisor to ensure clinic coverage and meet patient care needs. All shifts include a minimum 30-minute uncompensated lunch break.
General Knowledge:
- Knowledge of professional care theories, principles, practices, and procedures to perform nursing assignments of moderate difficulty and experience in assessing adult and geriatric patients, as appropriate.
- Utilize the nursing process as a basis for professional
- Knowledge of a wide range of medical disorders/conditions, diagnostic studies and treatments, as appropriate.
- Knowledge of disease management and education
- Working knowledge of military health care system including TRICARE health benefits or a working knowledge of the principles of fee-for-services, preferred provider network and managed care/HMO organizations is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of a variety of pharmacological agents, to specifically include chemotherapeutic, immunotherapy agents, and disease modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDS), including the desired effects, side effects, and
- Knowledge of the administrative requirements for proper documentation of patients' conditions including disease progress, acknowledgement of teaching, and follow up care.
Job Specific Details and Tasks:
- Manages patient care requirements within the unit as well as coordinates with ancillary departments and outside organizations to ensure the continuum of care.
- Is accountable for making patient care assignments based on the scope of practice and skill level of assigned personnel.
- Performs a full range of nursing procedures to include, but not limited to: patient counseling and education, telephone consultations with patients, reviewing charts, intravenous fluid administration, oxygen administration, vital signs monitoring and recording, specimen collection, and other unit-specific procedures as prescribed by the
- Participates in the orientation and training of newly assigned personnel, as
- Participates in peer
- Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care for adult and geriatric
- Synthesize data from a variety of sources and make appropriate clinical
- Coordinates patient care through a continuum and facilitates the achievement of optimal outcomes in relation to clinical care, quality and cost effectiveness.
- Ensures compliance with standards of care, practice in accordance with all established policies, procedures, and guidelines used in the medical treatment Provides care within ethical and legal boundaries.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: BSN Degree. Graduate from a college or university accredited by National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC), or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
Experience:Must have been employed in an Infusion Center/Clinic within past 24 months with at least 12 months experience. - Licensure: Possess current unrestricted RN License from any state.
- Life Support Certification: Possess current ARC or AHA BLS and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Advanced Life Support (ALS) are required. Oncology Nursing Society (ONS)/Oncology Nursing Corporation (ONCC) Chemotherapy Biotherapy certification is required at hire or must be obtained within 6 months of hire. Must maintain currency of certifications at NO cost to the government.
- Security: Possess the ability to pass a government background check/security clearance.
