Job description

Position Overview:
The Operations Supervisor is responsible for managing the daily activities within one or more assigned functional areas-Inbound, Outbound, Inventory Control, Quality or Value-Added Services. This role ensures that operational goals around productivity, accuracy, safety, and service level agreements (SLAs) are consistently met. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader capable of motivating and guiding team members, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring compliance with all company policies and procedures.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Supervise and coordinate daily operations in one or more of the following areas: receiving, put-away, picking, packing, shipping, inventory control, quality and value-added services.
  • Assign tasks and oversee the execution of processes in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs), ensuring adherence to quality and efficiency standards.
  • Manage labor and resources efficiently to meet operational deadlines and customer service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs) daily to track productivity and identify areas for improvement.
  • Foster a positive work environment by providing coaching, development, motivation, and regular performance feedback to team members.
  • Prepare and conduct performance evaluations for direct reports.
  • Promote and enforce compliance with all safety protocols to maintain a safe and secure work environment.
  • Support adherence to ISO standards and other applicable regulations.
  • Assist in developing and implementing process improvements aimed at increasing efficiency and reducing operational costs.
  • Train and onboard new employees; provide ongoing training and performance feedback for existing staff.
  • Lead and participate in regular team and departmental meetings to drive communication and alignment.
  • Participate in the hiring process by conducting interviews and evaluating potential candidates.
  • Collaborate closely with other departmental managers, supervisors, and executive leadership.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent plus 3 years of experience in supply chain, transportation, or logistics OR college degree in business, logistics, or a related field required.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience leading and managing teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Experience with warehouse management systems or ERPs is a plus.
  • Professional demeanor when interacting with vendors, internal and external customers, and guests.
  • Willingness and availability to work extended hours or weekends as business needs demand.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift items up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to alternate sitting, walking and standing up to 8 hours per day

Working Conditions:
  • Warehouse environment with moderate noise from power industrial trucks
