Weekend Quickbooks information

What is a Weekend QuickBooks job?

Weekend QuickBooks jobs are positions where individuals use QuickBooks accounting software to manage financial records, typically outside regular weekday hours. These jobs often involve tasks like bookkeeping, invoicing, payroll, and financial reporting for small businesses or individuals. Working on weekends allows companies to keep their finances updated without disrupting weekday operations, and it provides flexibility for workers who prefer or require weekend hours. Such roles may be remote or on-site and can be part-time or contract-based.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as a Weekend QuickBooks specialist?

To thrive as a Weekend QuickBooks Specialist, you need a solid understanding of bookkeeping, accounting principles, and prior experience with QuickBooks software, often supported by an associate degree or relevant certification. Familiarity with various QuickBooks versions, cloud-based accounting systems, and Microsoft Excel is typically required. Strong attention to detail, time management, and effective communication skills set top performers apart in this role. These skills and qualities are crucial for accurately managing financial records, meeting deadlines, and providing reliable support during critical weekend hours.

What are common challenges faced by Weekend QuickBooks professionals working part-time or on a flexible schedule?

Weekend QuickBooks professionals often manage multiple clients or projects in a compressed timeframe, which can make time management and prioritization critical challenges. Since many businesses operate primarily during the week, you may need to coordinate with clients or team members remotely or outside of traditional business hours. Staying up-to-date with client transactions, reconciling accounts accurately, and ensuring timely reporting can also require strong organizational skills. However, this flexible schedule offers autonomy and the opportunity to support businesses that need weekend coverage.

Job description

Join a Growing Minnesota Food-Service Company

Done Right Food Services (DRF) is a growing school food-service company serving schools throughout the Twin Cities. We are looking for an experienced, dependable, and detail-oriented Full-Charge Bookkeeper to join our team.

This is an important position within our organization. The ideal candidate will be comfortable taking ownership of daily bookkeeping activities, working independently, identifying discrepancies, and keeping our financial records accurate and up to date.

If you are an experienced bookkeeper who enjoys being organized, solving problems, and having responsibility for your work, we would like to hear from you.

What You'll Do

  • Manage daily bookkeeping activities using QuickBooks Online
  • Handle Accounts Payable (A/P), including entering bills, processing payments, and reconciling vendor statements
  • Manage Accounts Receivable (A/R) and customer accounts
  • Prepare and send accurate customer invoices
  • Monitor outstanding balances and follow up on past-due accounts
  • Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Maintain accurate vendor and customer records
  • Review transactions and documentation for accuracy
  • Assist with payroll processing and payroll-related accounting
  • Assist with monthly closing and month-end accounting
  • Prepare reports and supporting schedules for management
  • Work with our outside CPA/accounting team on accounting and year-end activities
  • Research and resolve discrepancies
  • Maintain organized and confidential financial records
  • Assist management with special accounting projects as needed

What We're Looking For

Required:

  • 3+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
  • Strong QuickBooks Online experience
  • Experience with A/P, A/R, invoicing, and bank reconciliations
  • Solid understanding of basic accounting principles
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Professional communication skills

Preferred:

  • Experience with payroll
  • Experience with month-end close
  • Experience working with an outside CPA
  • Experience in food service, school food service, or another multi-location business
  • Experience working in a growing small-to-medium-sized company

The Person We're Looking For

The right candidate will be someone who:

  • Takes ownership of their responsibilities
  • Is reliable and follows through
  • Pays close attention to details
  • Can identify discrepancies and resolve problems
  • Works well independently
  • Keeps information organized and confidential
  • Communicates clearly with management, vendors, and coworkers
  • Is comfortable managing multiple priorities
  • Takes pride in keeping financial records accurate and current

Compensation & Benefits

Full-time employees may be eligible for company benefits.

Why Join DRF?

At DRF, you will have the opportunity to play an important role in a growing company. This is not simply a data-entry bookkeeping position—you will have responsibility for important financial processes and will work directly with management and our accounting team.

We value reliability, accuracy, teamwork, accountability, and taking pride in your work.

How to Apply

Please submit your resume along with a brief description of your QuickBooks experience and bookkeeping responsibilities.

Qualified candidates will be contacted for an interview.
