Job Summary:

The Project Manager (PM) role is responsible for project planning and scheduling, resource allocation, project accounting and control, and providing technical direction while ensuring compliance with quality standards. The construction project manager’s responsibilities span a broad spectrum, covering all areas of project management, including Project Planning, Cost Management, Time Management, Quality Management, Contract Administration, and Safety Management.


Duties & Responsibilities:

• Provide oversight and ownership of the entire project delivery team with overall responsibility for project planning and scheduling, resource allocation, project accounting, and control, while providing technical direction and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

• Lead, mentor, and empower Project Management teams by providing clear direction, ongoing coaching, structured performance feedback, and accountability, while fostering a collaborative environment that supports continuous skill development, professional growth, and customer-focused project execution.

• Actively participates in the leadership of the Construction Management Team department, fostering a collaborative and high-performing project management team culture.

• Work collaboratively with trade partners, providing leadership and assistance in the total construction effort to ensure the project is constructed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule.

• Proactively manage and resolve project delivery and jobsite issues by applying sound judgment, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring minimal disruption to project progress.

• Project accounting functions include managing the budget, tracking team expenses, accurate cost projections, and minimizing exposure and risk to the project.

• Ensure that construction activities move forward in accordance with the sequenced project schedule and contract documentation.

• Coordinate and align the efforts of all project stakeholders, including architects, consultants, contractors, trade partners, and laborers, to ensure effective collaboration and consistent progress throughout all phases of the project.

• Communicate clearly and consistently with contractors and trade partners responsible for each project phase to support timely execution, resolve issues, and maintain project quality.

• Manage all communications with trade partners related to back charges, change orders, payment schedules, monthly application approvals, and release of retainage, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and timely resolution.

• Conduct Routine in-person inspection of construction sites.

• Maintain strict adherence to a no-incident safety program and Dant Clayton quality assurance program.

• Ensure all project documentation is accurate, timely, and complete.

• Proactively identify aspects of project design and construction that may lead to disputes or claims, assess their potential impact, and implement timely corrective actions to mitigate risk and maintain project continuity.

• Contributes to business development efforts by helping shape strategic plans, enhancing competitive positioning, and collaborating on the development of detailed, high-quality proposals.

• Facilitate a seamless and well-coordinated handoff from the sales team to the project delivery team by ensuring all project details, client expectations, and contractual requirements are clearly communicated to support a positive customer experience.

• Perform any additional duties as required.


Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, business management, or similar field; advanced degree preferred.

• 5-10 years of Commercial Construction Project Management experience.

• 3+ years of verifiable leadership experience in the construction industry.

• Advanced knowledge of Word, Excel, computer-based scheduling programs, and project management systems. Procore certification is a plus.

• Extensive previous work experience managing budgets for construction projects, including developing initial cost estimates, monitoring expenditures throughout all project phases, analyzing variances, and implementing corrective actions to maintain financial alignment with scope, schedule, and profitability goals.

• Thorough understanding of OSHA regulations; models, monitors, and enforces safety practices to promote a safe workplace.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively manage conflict.

• Supervisory, planning, negotiation, and critical thinking skills.

• Demonstrated ability to address and resolve conflict constructively by applying sound judgment, active listening, and effective communication to achieve positive outcomes for all parties involved.

• Must be able to travel nationally as needed and on short notice.

• Capacity to handle pressure and maintain logical decision-making ability.

Physical Requirements:
