What is a weekend production assistant?

A Weekend Production Assistant is an entry-level role in television, film, or media production, responsible for supporting production staff during weekend shifts. Their duties often include helping set up equipment, running errands, organizing props, assisting crew members, and ensuring the smooth operation of production activities. This position is ideal for individuals looking to gain experience in the media industry, as it provides exposure to various aspects of production. Weekend Production Assistants must be flexible, organized, and able to work well under pressure. The role can serve as a stepping stone to more advanced positions in the production field.

What are the typical responsibilities of a weekend production assistant?

As a Weekend Production Assistant, your main duties often include assisting with equipment setup and breakdown, managing scripts and schedules, supporting on-air talent, and handling logistical tasks such as running errands or coordinating with other departments.
