Job description

Carney, Sandoe & Associates, an educational recruitment firm, is currently seeking an experienced Middle School Librarian for the 2026-2027 academic year at an independent school in Miami, FL.

Responsibilities of Middle School Librarian:

  • Cultivate a love of reading, strengthen information literacy, and design meaningful learning experiences that integrate research, technology, creativity, and critical thinking for middle school students.
  • Collaborate with faculty to expand collection of resources that align with student needs, instructional strategies, and school mission.
  • Assist with instruction on effective use of library resources.
  • Assess current use of digital systems identifying needs for improvement, alignment, and faculty support.
  • Work with faculty to integrate best research practices into curriculum and enhance student learning outcomes.

Requirements of Middle School Librarian:

  • Master of Library Science (MLS) or equivalent advanced degree.
  • Previous K-12 teaching or school librarian experience required.
  • Expertise with library management systems.
  • Passion for working with middle school students.
  • Demonstrated expertise in learning management systems (LMS).
  • U.S. Work Authorization required.

Additional Desired Qualities:

  • Desire to be involved in school-wide initiatives and extracurricular activities.
