Job description

NABRICO Marine Products is seeking a skilled, safety-focused Maintenance Mechanic to join our Maintenance team in Ashland City, Tennessee. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving the mechanical systems and equipment that support our barge manufacturing operations.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with industrial equipment, mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and preventive maintenance programs. This position plays a key role in ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and supporting production goals.

What You'll Do
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain industrial machinery, equipment, and mechanical systems.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance activities to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
  • Repair and maintain hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and conveyor systems.
  • Install, align, adjust, and replace bearings, motors, gearboxes, pumps, chains, sprockets, and other mechanical components.
  • Perform welding, cutting, fabrication, and equipment modifications as needed to support maintenance activities.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals, blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Conduct equipment inspections and identify potential mechanical issues before failures occur.
  • Support equipment installations, upgrades, and continuous improvement projects.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete work orders in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with production and maintenance personnel to resolve equipment issues efficiently.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and lockout/tagout (LOTO) requirements.
  • Participate in safety initiatives and continuous improvement activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What You'll Need
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical training or maintenance-related certification preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, marine, steel, or related industrial environment preferred.
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial mechanical equipment.
  • Working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, power transmission systems, pumps, and mechanical assemblies.
  • Ability to safely operate maintenance tools, power tools, cutting equipment, and welding equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, manuals, and technical drawings.
  • Ability to listen, understand, and follow verbal and written instructions while maintaining safety, quality, and productivity standards.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with industrial welding and fabrication.
  • Experience operating forklifts, aerial lifts, and other maintenance-related equipment.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance systems and CMMS software.
  • Knowledge of rigging and material handling practices.
  • Experience in heavy manufacturing, steel fabrication, shipbuilding, marine, or industrial environments.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
  • Ability to work in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to climb ladders, stairs, platforms, and access elevated work areas.
  • Ability to work in confined or restricted spaces when required.
  • Ability to frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, and reach throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull tools, equipment, and materials as required.
  • Ability to work around moving machinery, noise, vibration, heat, dust, and other industrial conditions.
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures and weather conditions depending on the work area.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and respond to emergency maintenance situations as needed.
