Neurosurgeon
Location: Colorado

Overview:
A hospital-based opportunity is available for a Neurosurgeon to provide weekend call coverage in a high-acuity, Level I trauma setting. This role includes managing complex neurosurgical and trauma cases in a busy emergency and surgical environment.
Compensation:
$4000 call rate and $475/hr call-back
Assignment Details:
Start: ASAP
Ongoing weekend coverage needed
Schedule:
Weekend call: Friday 7:00 AM Monday 7:00 AM
Continuous 24-hour call coverage
Practice Details:
Setting: Hospital-based
Trauma Level: I
EMR: Epic
High-volume emergency department
Multidisciplinary neurosurgery team
Patient Population:
Ages 17+
Adult and trauma patients
Case Mix & Responsibilities:
Traumatic brain injuries and intracranial hemorrhage
Tumor resections
Cranial procedures (burr holes, shunts, ventriculostomy)
Spine procedures (discectomy, laminectomy, spinal fusion, stabilization)
Neurocritical care management
Intracranial pressure monitoring and management
CSF sampling and drain management
Emergency neurosurgical interventions
Procedures Include:
Ventriculoperitoneal shunts and revisions
Ventricular taps and drains
Lumbar punctures and lumbar drains
Arterial and venous access placement
EEG interpretation
Administration of vasoactive/sedative medications
Hypothermia management
Requirements:
Board Certified Neurosurgeon Required (no BE)
Active Colorado License Preferred (must be willing to obtain)
ACLS, BLS, and ATLS (AHA) Required
Spinal instrumentation experience Required
Clean malpractice/background Required
COVID vaccination Required
Fellowship training Preferred
Credentialing:
Must be able to obtain privileges prior to start
