Job description

Summary Objective
The Production Technician performing Dry Film Lube and/or Cerakote Painting executes work orders according to customer expectations while achieving required rates and maintaining safety standards.

  • To perform the highest level of quality painting to meet or exceed customer expectations

  • To work safe and report issues when identified

Key Responsibilities TASKS YOU DO TO ACHIEVE THE ACCOUNTABILTIES
  • Review work orders and paint specifications to ensure an awareness of job requirements
  • Obtain and mix paint ingredients in accordance with manufacturer's specs to ensure paint is the proper consistency and viscosity
  • Assist in managing paint inventory and tracking paint usage
  • Set up and operate oven to cure parts after painting is completed
  • Transport parts to be painted into the paint booth or prepping work area
  • Inspect parts to be painted to ensure parts are clean and free of nonconformances
  • Assemble and disassemble painting equipment to ensure proper care of equipment before and after jobs are completed
  • Perform prep work associated with painting which may include racking, hanging, and masking of parts
  • Spray units by hand to ensure proper paint application
  • Continuously inspect parts to ensure proper coating application and make spray gun adjustments as needed
  • Maintain paint booth by replacing filters and lights as needed
  • Other duties as assigned, based on business need
  • Must be able to work 3:00pm to 1:30am Monday through Thursday

Requirements
Qualities for Success
  • Demonstrates Arrow Finishing Core Values
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Must be a Citizen of the United States of America or have a current Green Card
  • General knowledge or willingness to learn of DFL and/or Cerakote
  • Experience as a painter/applicator in DFL, Cerakote, automotive and/or powder coating
  • Strong knowledge of racking material electrical current carrying capacity
  • Must have great mechanical skills and attention to detail
  • General computer skills and the ability to work with basic computer programs
  • Ability to balance workload effectively and stay organized
  • Ability to read and understand processes, procedures, and instructions
  • Ability to work and collaborate with others respectfully and professionally
  • Ability to be dependable and punctual, work overtime as needed
  • Must be a highly motivated individual with the ability to work independently

Physical Requirements
  • Lift up to 10 lbs. regularly and up to 30 lbs. on occasion
  • Ability to use hands and arms requiring fine dexterity and precision through workday
  • Standing, sitting, walking, stooping, and bending for 8 hours as the position requires
  • Ability to withstand occasional odors

Work Environment
This position location is on the production floor. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may work near moving mechanical parts and could be exposed to chemical or electrical shock risk.
