Description

This on-site, contract position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to life-saving surgical procedures while working alongside experienced surgeons and healthcare professionals.

As a Locum PA, you will play a critical role in providing comprehensive care to patients undergoing cardiothoracic and vascular surgeries. You will be involved in pre-operative assessments, intraoperative assistance, and post-operative follow-up care. Your expertise will not only enhance patient outcomes but also ensure the highest standards of surgical care within our facility.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct pre-operative patient evaluations and assessments.
  • Assist surgeons during cardiothoracic and vascular procedures.
  • Manage post-operative care and follow-up for patients.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Document patient histories and treatment plans accurately.
  • Participate in patient education regarding surgical procedures and recovery.
  • Monitor patients post-surgery for complications or recovery issues.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and their families about care plans.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in Physician Assistant studies or equivalent.
  • Current certification as a Physician Assistant (PA-C).
  • Experience in a surgical setting, preferably in cardiothoracic or vascular surgery.
  • Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment.
  • Commitment to patient-centered care and safety standards.
  • Valid state medical license to practice as a PA.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8-hour shifts

Beeper Call: 1 night per week and rotating weekends

Duties: Provide surgical first-assist and consultation support

Must be board-certified

ACLS & BLS required

Paid travel & expenses
