70% FTE, Monday - Friday, 8 hour day/evening shifts. No holidays, weekends, on-call or overnights.ย Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department. You will be working at the Madison Surgery Center in Madison, WI.ย

We are seeking a Registered Nurse - Pre/Post/PACU to:

  • Deliver comprehensive perioperative and peri anesthesia care across several surgical specialties, includingย ENT, Cataracts, Pain, Hand, Foot, Ortho (scopes), General, and some GYN.

  • Provide comprehensive care for surgical patients by preparing them for surgery. This includes Perioperative Checklists, IV placement and Medication Administration.ย 

  • Provide care in the Outpatient PACU. Critical care experience preferred.

  • Develop a therapeutic relationship to enable the patient and family to verbalize understanding of post-surgical care and discharge teaching.ย

Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) Required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) Preferred
Work Experience
  • 6 months of RN experience Required
  • Experience working pre/post operatively with varied surgical patient populations Preferred
  • Emergency nursing, critical care, medical/surgical, or ambulatory surgery center experience Preferred
  • Moderate sedation and cardiac monitoring experience Preferred
  • 1 year or more of RN experience Preferred
Licenses & Certifications
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state(s) where patients are receiving care or may work as eligible per state licensing regulations Upon Hire Required
  • Basic Life Support/CPR Upon Hire Required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Upon Hire Required
