Role Overview

As a Clinical Laboratory Scientist Coordinator, you will lead and coordinate the daily operations of the laboratory while also providing hands-on support in point-of-care testing across multiple departments as needed. You will provide guidance, training, and mentorship to team members, ensuring regulatory compliance and supporting quality assurance and quality management programs across the laboratory. This role requires independent judgment, strong leadership, and the ability to balance supervisory responsibilities with direct technical contributions in point-of-care testing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate daily laboratory operations, including scheduling and supervisory duties.
  • Prioritize, delegate, and oversee all phases of laboratory processes to ensure accurate, reliable, and timely results.
  • Maintain compliance with laboratory policies, procedures, and regulatory standards, including monitoring proficiency testing.
  • Oversee quality assurance and quality management programs; follow up on deviations as needed.
  • Train, mentor, and provide resources to team members; serve as preceptor and ensure competency documentation.
  • Support laboratory operations during manager/technical director absence, including attending meetings and handling escalated concerns.
  • Maintain point-of-care testing competency and provide coverage/support in multiple laboratory areas as needed, includingHematology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Serology, and Immunology.
  • Utilize leadership, delegation, preceptor, and management skills to optimize team performance.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service, communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
  • Maintain administrative, clerical, and computer competencies appropriate to the position.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

??Certification & Licensure

  • Required: State of Florida Clinical Laboratory Technologist License

??Education

  • Required: Bachelor's in Biological Science or related Clinical Science field

??Experience

  • Required: 4 years of clinical laboratory experience
