Weyerhaeuser Company is currently recruiting for skilled Industrial Electricians with a thorough and comprehensive knowledge of electrical equipment, processes and techniques to repair, modify, install and maintain the facility and high-tech lumber manufacturing equipment.

As an Industrial Electrician, you will be responsible for leading identifying safety, environmental, quality & production issues; coordinating activities with production teams to maximize productivity and minimize cost, reducing waste and taking measures to proactively address all concerns. Additionally, you will work with each team by proactively resolving machine issues, building teamwork, and ensuring adherence to all applicable site policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner.

Key Functions

  • Ensure the safety of all associates by identifying safety issues and taking measures to proactively address concerns, role model safe work practices and attend  safety meetings 
  • Be active in safety, training and preshift meetings 
  • Effective communication across & between shifts and with the production teams.
  • Manage and utilize preventive electrical systems to reduce unscheduled downtime.
  • Efficient use of reliable troubleshooting methods to ensure up-time, production volume and quality goals are met.
  • Perform electrical repairs safely and efficiently.
  • Perform visual inspections and coordinate repairs.
  • Coordinate electrical repairs, input computer work requests, communicate with planning department & operating teams.
  • Ensure quality of electrical work is done in a timely manner.
  • Proper documentation on pm, breakdown, or project work is input in CMMS
  • Responsible for applicable permitting (hot work, red tag, cross connection)
  • Understand what impacts machine reliability & quality and makes improvements.
  • Analyze equipment failures to prevent reoccurrence (work with craft and operating associates)
  • Assist with mechanical and operational tasks as needed during breakdowns
  • High school diploma/GED
  • Must have at least 3 years' industrial electrical experience OR an equivalent combination of related education and/or electrical experience
  • Experience working with and on manufacturing equipment. 
  • Good troubleshooting and failure analysis skills
  • Proven experience in preventive and predictive maintenance methods
  • Ability to identify root cause of problems and effectively initiate immediate corrective action to prevent reoccurrenceExcellent interpersonal, written, verbal and electronic communication skills
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Strong work ethic, good judgment and decision-making skills
  • Strong computer skills with the ability to learn computerized maintenance management system
  • Understanding of reliability centered electrical maintenance practices
  • Understand NFPA 70E, Arc Flash and follow ratings
  • Able to read and understand wiring schematics and one-line drawings
  • Able to run conduit and cable tray
  • Able to troubleshoot and wiring of motors
  • Must be willing to work nights, weekends and holidays as necessary
  • Able to work in extreme temperatures, in dusty and noisy conditions, while wearing safety equipment
  • Able to lift 2-20 pounds regularly, lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, climb steps and ladders, work from heights and stand or walk for 2-3 hours at a time for 10 hours
  • Experience utilizing computer maintenance management systems (i.e., SAP) consisting of work orders, preventative maintenance, equipment records, purchasing, parts and materials specification, and spares is a plus.
  • Ability to work up to 480VAC

The following qualifications are preferred:

  • Vocational or technical school certificate in related area
  • Past employment experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with AB Drives and Soft Starts (Power Flex, SMC)
  • Experience with SAP or another CMMS
  • Understand basic networking equipment
  • Ability to work on camera systems
  • PLC troubleshooting and/or programming experience (Control Logix)
  • Stable work history
  • Experience working with measurement devices, such as thermocouples, RTDS, and pressure/flow sensors. 
  • Understanding of linear positioning and encoders  
  • Mechanical knowledge related to conveying, pneumatics, and hydraulic systems.
