Job Title: Senior PLC Technician/Engineer
Experience: 8 years +
Location: Baton Rouge, LA
Schedule: Full-time
Salary: $85,000.00 and up, depending on qualifications
Classification: Exempt
Summary: Leadership position overseeing the installation, programming, and maintenance of various Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) systems, and related automation solutions.
Job Description
This position requires the installation and maintenance of PLC systems and other electronic automation equipment. This involves analyzing requirements for installation, commissioning and inspecting systems hardware and software, troubleshooting and resolving problems, and managing the customer's needs over the life of the relationship. This position requires technical acumen, the ability for critical analysis, and attention to detail with an emphasis on strong computer skills. This position requires the ability to travel to remote customer sites across the United States.
Responsibilities
  • Lead programming and configuration efforts on PLC platforms (Allen Bradley preferred)
  • Perform detailed functional tests on systems integrated from different vendors
  • Perform specialized installation and troubleshooting tasks and to maintain configuration databases under minimum supervision
  • Concept design for new PLC systems (centralized, decentralized, dual redundant, safety systems, etc.)
  • PLC programming, testing, installation and commissioning as required
  • Design of HMI and SCADA interface

Requirements
  • 8 years plus of experience
  • Strong computer, server, and networking skills and basic industrial instrumentation knowledge
  • Some travel may be required
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Must be able to submit to and pass a drug/alcohol screening. Background check may be required for site requirements
  • Must be able to comply with customer site requirements for access/entry
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the U.S. and have a stable work history. Sponsorship is not available

  • Ability to lift 25+pounds periodically
  • See, respond, and report to dangerous situations
  • Bending, walking, climbing, kneeling, sitting, and standing for extended periods
  • May be required to wear PPE/Safety gear at specific times
