Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring combined adult and pediatric ED experience, with night shift availability and a 13-week contract.

Details
  • Combined adult and pediatric Emergency Department — no separate pediatric area, with pediatric patients seen across all zones
  • Common patient presentations include STEMI, stroke, sprains, sutures, and high-acuity cases across all age groups
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 4:1, with occasional stretch to 5:1 during peak census
  • Drip experience required, including routine vasopressors, insulin, and sedation
  • Primary shift is 7p–7a (12 hours), with flexibility required to also cover 3p–3a shifts
  • 36 hours per week
  • Weekend requirement: 6 shifts over 6 weeks
  • 13-week contract
Requirements
  • Active VA or Compact RN license required
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS required; TNCC preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of ED experience required
  • Experience with both adult and pediatric emergency patients required
  • Experience managing drips including vasopressors, insulin, and sedation required
  • Flexibility to work both 3p–3a and 7p–7a shifts required
