JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for packing bagged avocados according to correct bag and avocado quality based on Mission Produce standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
§ Understand the differences in avocados including, but not limited to, size, label, color, ripeness and overall quality.
§ Understand the various customers and the specifications in quality that each customer requires.
§ Understand the various proper packing procedures including, but not limited to, box types and bag configurations.
§ Determine fruit and bag quality and sort according to company and customer quality standards.
§ Utilize any supporting packing materials for all product types.
§ Ensure the working area is always clean and ready according to company standards.
§ Undergo safety and job training pertinent to your job.
§ Complete other duties as directed by supervisors or leads.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
§ Ability to work and communicate well with supervisors, leads and fellow employees.
§ Ability to communicate and read in Spanish or English effectively.
§ Ability to accomplish and manage tasks in a timely manner without constant direct supervision.
§ Ability to lift or move up to 40 pounds.
§ Ability and willingness to be occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, temperatures between 35 and 45 degrees and safely work near moving mechanical parts and equipment.
§ Ability and willingness to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, stoop, kneel, crouch, smell, etc., as needed to perform essential tasks.
