Job description

Job Title: Packer
Reports to: Production Supervisor
Location: Woodland, WA
FLSA: Non-Exempt
Position Summary:
The Packer is an entry level position that focuses on the individual’s ability to effectively collaborate, learn, and train to assist our machine operators to maintain company production standards. In this role, you will learn to successfully perform all company production applications, assist on each machine profile, and undertake general plant responsibilities to best support our daily operations. The overall goal for a production packer is to master all responsibilities and qualifications within our production department, in seek of maturing into a qualified Machine Operator. Production Packer will report to Production Supervisor.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Duties include the following (other duties may be assigned):
  • Receive instruction from Production team members (Production Supervisor, Production Lead, Machine Operator) to work as an assigned team member and assist in completion of production orders
  • Ability to comprehend and train to complete various alternate production processes (Set-up routines for pouring and powders, housekeeping, line clearance, packaging instructions, scope of quality expectations)
  • Set up and operate various tasks on each production machine (Bottle feeding, capper unit, sealer unit, labeler unit, packaging instructions)
  • Ability to set-up and accurately follow powder work instructions successfully
  • Accurately follow Production Supervisor and Leads direction, packaging instructions, and SOP’s for order completion
  • Collaborates with Machine Operator when machinery requires maintenance
  • Ability to successfully complete EPJ (Electric Pallet Jack) training
  • Perform basic quality checks consistently and accurately during each work order produced
  • Work with production team members to complete order clean up and machine clean out
  • Assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned
  • Communicating with others to exchange information.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Capability to preform as functional team member in successfully meeting organizational objectives and expectations
  • Compliance with all personal protective equipment requirements
  • Competency in following company SOP’s, company policies and procedures
  • Effectively collaborate with all team members
  • Ability to read, write and understand English
  • Self-motivated to accomplish various tasks with or without direction
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; kneel; talk; or hear, and hand grip. The employee may frequently lift, pull or push and /or move more than 50 pounds. Frequently use copier, scanner, fax machine, phone, and computer equipment. The employee is occasionally required to sit, Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Specific vision abilities required by the job include: closes vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less), distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more), color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors), peripheral vision (ability to observe and area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point), and ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring and object into sharp focus). Specific hearing levels within normal/average range.
