Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Director of Facilities Operations to lead all aspects of integrated facilities management across a multi-building educational campus. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing maintenance, custodial services, grounds operations, capital improvement projects, and facility-related vendor partnerships while ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality operations.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong operational expertise, excellent client relationship skills, and experience managing large teams, budgets, and construction projects. This position serves as the primary point of contact for senior leadership and is responsible for delivering exceptional service while maintaining operational and financial performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and oversee integrated facilities management operations across multiple buildings.
  • Direct maintenance, custodial, and grounds operations to ensure safe, clean, and well-maintained facilities.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop facility management, maintenance, and custodial teams.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with executive leadership and key stakeholders through proactive communication and reporting.
  • Oversee renovation, construction, and capital improvement projects while coordinating contractors, consultants, and vendors.
  • Serve as the owner’s representative for facility improvement projects and ensure project timelines, budgets, and quality standards are achieved.
  • Manage operating budgets and financial performance, including forecasting, cost control, and resource allocation.
  • Ensure preventive maintenance programs are effectively implemented while managing reactive maintenance activities.
  • Oversee building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and utilities.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations, environmental standards, and organizational policies.

  • Manage vendor contracts and evaluate contractor performance.
