Job description

Hourly Pay Range:
$37.47 - $58.08 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.
Position Highlights:
  • SIGN-ON BONUS: $10,000
  • Position: Ultrasound Technologist Senior
  • Location: Elmhurst Memorial Hospital, Elmhurst IL
  • Full-Time, 40 hours weekly
  • Hours: Monday-Friday, 8 or 10 hour shifts. Start times vary from 10am, 12pm or 2pm
  • Weekends: Every other weekend, 8 or 10 hour shifts. Start times vary from 10am, 12pm or 2pm
  • Holidays: 1 - 8 hour holiday shift per year

What you will do:
Under general supervision, using ultrasound equipment produces two-dimensional ultrasound images of internal organs for use by Radiologists in the diagnosis of disease and the study of malfunction of organs. Delivers and ensures customer service in all aspects of the job. Explains procedure to patient, gives opportunity for questions to reduce anxiety and promote trust. The Ultrasound Technologist Senior is proficient in a range of tasks and skills within multiple ultrasound disciplines/procedures.
In addition to the Ultrasound Tech responsibilities, these Senior Level Technologists are registered in 3 or more registries and/or perform specialized procedures within the department. These include: Biopsies (FNA - Fine Needle Aspiration, Thyroid, Liver, Breast, etc.), Paracentesis, Thoracentesis, MSK, Breast, TCD - Transcranial Doppler
What you will need:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Preferred: A minimum of an Associate's Degree or higher
  • ARRT (S)(American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, Sonography) or ARDMS (American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography)
  • Certified and currently registered as RDMS (OB or AB), RT(S), RT (VS), RVT, or RVS
  • Current CPR Certification (BLS) issued by American Heart Association
  • Certified and currently registered in multiple registries (need 3 or more) Breast/MSK/Ob/RVT/Gyn/Abd
  • Preferred: 2+ years of previous Ultrasound experience
  • Preferred: Prior Ultrasound experience with advanced procedures such as: Biopsies (FNA, Thyroid, Liver, breast, etc.), Paracentesis, Thoracentesis, MSK, Breast, TCD
