Job description

Job Summary:
The OB Tech provides support in the Labor & Delivery unit, assisting with patient care and procedures. This role requires experience in Labor & Delivery and the ability to float to Pediatrics to perform basic patient care tasks. The OB Tech works collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure quality patient care.
Location:Decatur, Illinois, United States
Responsibilities:
- Assist patients with activities of daily living.
- Monitor and record vital signs.
- Assist with patient positioning and ambulation.
- Prepare patients for procedures and assist during procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized patient care environment.
- Float to Pediatrics to provide water and take vital signs.
- Answer phones and direct calls.
- Document patient care and related duties.
- Assist with patient registration activities.
- Coordinate equipment and supply needs.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Minimum 3 years of Labor & Delivery experience.
- BLS certification.
- Labor & Delivery experience.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- ACLS certification.
- Community Hospital experience.
- First Assist experience.
- Experience with Abdominal hysterectomy, C-sections, and Vaginal Delivery.
Special Considerations:
- On-call requirement: 4 shifts in a 6-week period.
- Must be in IL 3 business days prior to compliance HDD in order to meet fingerprinting requirements.
- Will float to Pediatrics as a patient care tech to give water/take vital signs.
- Client may call-off up to 36 hours per thirteen week assignment without paying for the cancelled hours. If Client cancels more hours than permitted by this section, Client will be billed for any shifts or portions thereof cancelled in excess of this section. If Candidates are placed on-call in lieu of being called off, that will count as a called-off shift.
Scheduling:
- 3x12 hour night shifts (1800-0630).
- Will work every third weekend.
- Schedule requests can be discussed with the manager.
