Job Description

Nona Crew Lead Counselor

Reports to: Youth Activities Manager 

FLSA Status: Part Time Hourly/Non-Exempt

Schedule: weekend availability required. 

Job Tasks/Duties

Assist with set-up and decoration of all events

Assists in creating the schedule for Nona Crew Counselors

Responsible for proper execution of Nona Crew events when manager not present

Assists the Youth Activities manager in filing and documenting all necessary reports of the operation.

Greets members and guests in a professional friendly way

Ensure knowledge of all safety and first aid protocol procedures

Ensures knowledge of company policies and procedures as it refers to Nona Crew department

Supervises children when in our care and adheres to all rules regarding our younger members

 Assists parents when signing their children in and out, including checking identification when necessary

Handles proper care of all materials for events and stores them after

Ensures knowledge of all children, allergies, special needs, and staff during events while in our care

Communicates with and informs Youth Activities Manager of any unforeseen circumstances and reacts appropriately

Moves furniture when necessary ie: Kid tables and chairs 

Maintains confidentiality as it relates to our member's family information

Perform routine safety checks of areas for events before we begin

 Attends all department staff meetings and trainings

Engages each child during activity time

Assist with all other duties as needed or directed by senior management

Requirements

Essential Requirements & Qualifications

  • 3+ years of Child Care experience, preferably in  a Leadership Position
  • High School education or  equivalent required
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Must be willing to get CPR  certified early into employment
  • Knowledge of office equipment
  • A friendly outgoing demeanor is a plus
  • Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • This position includes (long periods of) balancing, stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting,      grasping, feeling and repetitive motions.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to work in hot conditions & outdoors for long periods of time.
  • Must be physically able to do assigned work as outlined above.
  • Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
