Job description

Title: Production Supervisor
Location: Independence, MO
Salary: $ 77,600 - $86,100
Schedule: Multiple openings. Shifts available: 1 for B1 Weekend Nights, 1 for B3 Weekend Nights
Focus: The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing the daily operations of the manufacturing unit. This role involves the development and management of employees, maintaining workflow processes, ensuring quality and compliance, and fostering a collaborative and safe work environment. The Production Supervisor also plays a key role in implementing company policies and driving continuous improvement within the production processes.
Production Supervisor Job Functions:
  • Participate in the selection, onboarding, training, and development of employees while learning to set performance expectations, provide recognition, and address performance concerns through data-driven solutions.
  • Support the implementation of company policies, ethical standards, and operational procedures while fostering cooperation across departments and maintaining productive labor relations in accordance with collective bargaining agreements.
  • Assist in developing and executing tactical production plans, monitoring workflow, personnel, and resource utilization while identifying opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.
  • Analyze production performance data and operational reports to support decision-making, improve efficiency, and ensure accurate communication of production status.
  • Learn to schedule and assign personnel, set operational priorities, monitor progress, and support teams in achieving production goals across multiple manufacturing processes.
  • Promote and maintain a safe and organized work environment by reinforcing safety standards, equipment procedures, and compliance with company policies.

Production Supervisor Minimum Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience leading processes, projects, or teams with demonstrated ability to influence others and support continuous improvement.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, work safely in a high-volume environment, and collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Working knowledge of production processes, quality control, and safety practices.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to present information clearly.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Location-Specific Requirements:
  • Must have a valid US Driver's License
  • This position requires successful vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with U.S. Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
  • This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, if required.
  • This position requires successful vetting for unescorted access in accordance with U.S. Army and Department of Defense access policies. To meet the government-facility requirements, the candidate must be a US citizen
