Job description

CWS seeks a Network Operations Lead to lead the U.S. Customs and Border Protection's (CBP) Network Operations Center (NOC) contract operational teams. The Network Operations Lead leads the NOC operational teams responsible for maintaining continuous network availability, performance, and reliability across the CBP enterprise, which includes services provided across geographically dispersed sites.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Oversee day-to-day NOC operations, ensuring 24x7x365 coverage.
  • Direct monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance optimization for LAN/WAN/WLAN infrastructure.
  • Supervise NOC technicians and ensure SOP compliance.
  • Coordinate scheduled maintenance, patching, and system upgrades.
  • Interface with CBP government leads for operational updates and escalations.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's in technical or engineering field.
  • 10+ years in enterprise network administration.
  • Proven experience with routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
  • Expertise with network monitoring and ticketing systems.

Preferred Qualifications
  • CCNP/CCIE or ITIL v3 certification.
  • DHS or Federal NOC experience.

Place of Performance
  • Springfield and Ashburn, VA (with possible travel to Orlando, FL, and other CBP facilities).

Clearance
  • Must have favorably passed a full five (5) year background investigation (BI) required by CBP policies and procedures for employment prior to beginning work with CBP.
