Reporting directly to the PDU Assembly Supervisor, we are currently seeking a PDU Assembly Technician for our Nightshift to be based at our Price, UT facility.

Job Description
Job Title: PDU Assembly Technician

Position Summary: PDU Assembly Technicians assemble mechanical assemblies and attach electrical components and perform basic wiring functions, (e.g. Switches, breakers, electrical panels) on electrical equipment in a production line of high volume quantities. Technicians will be required to cross train between both mechanical and electrical tasks, and will be required to maintain a high-volume, high-efficiency, high-quality working ethic.
Work Schedule: Monday - Thursday 8:00 pm - 6:30 am
Essential Functions. Other duties may be assigned.
Electrical and Mechanical Assembly
  • Under the direction of Electrical and Mechanical Lead Technician or PDU Assembly Supervisor - follow and interpret and work from technical assembly prints to build mechanical assemblies, bus bar assemblies, wire and install electrical components including; electrical switches, electronic instruments and devices, such as programmable process controllers (PLCs), data loggers, relays, breakers and other electronic instrumentation equipment used in the manufacture and repair of electrical power equipment
  • Position, align, or adjust mechanical work pieces or electrical parts to facilitate wiring or assembly
  • Perform basic wiring functions
  • Assemble and install wiring racks, and electrical bus bar as required
  • Adjust, repair, or replace electrical, electronic and mechanical component parts to correct defects and to ensure conformance to specifications
  • Perform basic troubleshooting duties as required and diagnose cause of electrical or mechanical malfunction or failure of operational equipment and make necessary repairs
  • Determine reparability and cost to repair equipment, refurbish equipment and replace defective parts.
  • Perform installations compliant with current electrical codes, customer specifications, and IE standard procedures and quality control procedures
  • Responsible for assigned project completion, quality and delivery according to work schedule

Tools and Equipment
  1. Various hand tools - wire strippers, crimpers, drill, razor knife
  2. Use overhead crane, forklift, hoists, to assist in electrical assembly and moving materials/projects
  3. Properly care for and maintain tools in good operating condition; ensure tools and equipment is properly stored at the end of each shift

Other Essential Duties
  1. Maintains regular and consistent job attendance, comes to work on time.
  2. Follows and complies with IE Core Values.
  3. Follow and comply with IE safety program including following IE's Cardinal Safety Rules.
  4. Must maintain a safe and clean work area at all times.

Requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Experience working on industrial electrical distribution equipment or similar industry preferred
  • Ability to read and understand basic wiring schematics and layout diagrams.
  • Experience with various hand tools, crimpers, wire strippers, drills and electrical testing equipment (DVOM) preferred.
  • Lift up to 75 lbs., Push/Pull up to 100 lbs.
  • Must be capable of standing and walking for an extended period of time.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working in a team environment with minimal supervision.
  • Confident with the ability to work closely with other technicians and management while keeping production flowing and meeting due dates
  • Demonstrated proficiency to achieve high quality results in electrical and mechanical assemblies, troubleshooting through continual attention to detail and anticipation of potential problems
  • Must be detailed oriented and committed to producing quality work
  • Must be able to get along with co-workers, supervisors, management, etc.
  • Able to work multiple tasks and varied job duties as assigned

Work Schedule: Must be able to work a 40-hour work week and additional time as required.
