Who You Are

The Service Operations Manager is responsible for all aspects of the boatyard operation, maintenance, including boat service on the property.

TPG Marinas is a nationwide owner and operator of marina businesses and other waterfront real estate. We have evolved our approach to marina management through over 30 years in the hotel and hospitality industry. Whether we are an investor, owner or third-party operator, TPG is committed to bringing success to capital partners as entrusted stewards of marina business and waterfront real estate assets.

What You Will Do

Determine and maintain staffing needs to perform all functions of boatyard operations in accordance with TPG

standards and practices.

Ensure the facility and equipment are properly maintained, taking into consideration financial impact, aesthetics as well as function.

Establish and implement high standards of cleanliness and professional service to customers and their vessels.

Ensure the boatyard is operated in compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.

Administration and sales of dry storage leases.

Maintain adequate records of storage, service, insurance, and sales.

Enforce the terms and conditions of the agreements as well as the boatyard?s rules and regulations.

Assist in preparing budget projections, operating within the budget, and preparing financial forecasts.

Manage the repair and service of customer boats in accordance with TPG service process and SOPs.

Management of employees, including hiring, recruiting, onboarding, discipline, and terminations.

Scheduling and assignments of all work order tasks.

Ensure proper time tracking and billing of labor hours.

Ensure proper ordering, invoicing, and inventory of parts.

Manage all third-party subcontractors.

Ensure work is completed in compliance with all applicable laws.

Complete/approve billing for each job in a timely fashion.

Prepare/review all estimates.

Ensuring customer communication is happening in regular intervals

Perform quality control inspections once work is completed.

Approve accounts payable in accordance with TPG procurement guidelines.

Collections of payments and minimize Accounts Receivables

Manage dealerships and vendor relationships, including tracking and maintenance of necessary employee trainings.

Development and execution of apprenticeship and talent development programs

Rhythm reporting as determine by TPG Marinas.

Identify/implement new strategies to grow revenues and manage expenses.

Any other duties as assigned by TPG Marinas and the direct Manager.Key Competencies

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

3-5 years experience preferred in leading a marine service operation.

Basic boat handling skills preferred.

Ability to work on-site at Taylor Point Boatyard, Dutch Harbor Boatyard and Conanicut Marina.

Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. Able to stand for extended periods and occasionally kneel, stoop, bend and twist in tight areas. Comfortability with ladders and confined spaces is required. Ability to work in the elements regularly.

All candidates must be ready, willing, and able to work a fully flexible work schedule that may include days, nights, weekends and holidays to meet the fluctuating business demands.
