JobSummary: Theemergency safe shelter is open 24-7 with trained staff. The Shelter Night/Weekend Manager mustpossess a 2-year degree in Human Services or related work experience indomestic violence. SWM must be available to work onholidays, weekends, weekdays, and overnights. Responsibilities include supervisingNight Weekend Workers providing direct and indirect services with integrity,energy, optimism, temperament, non-judgmental attitude, and compassion to allresidents. Employees must be able to perform physical tasks of lifting up to30lbs and climbing up and down stairs.
Responsibilities
1. Provide direct services tovictims including crisis intervention and support services.
2. Perform administrative duties, aswell as indirect duties including housekeeping, repairs, and cleaning.
3. Possess knowledge of localresources for women and children.
4. Always protect clientconfidentiality and the security of the shelter by enforcing house policies andguidelines for health and safety purposes.
5. Communicate effectively withresidents, staff, volunteers, law enforcement and other agencies in a timelymanner.
6. Must be able to supervise andassign the work schedule for all NWR workers to ensure all shifts are covered.
7. Must be available to work at night,weekends, holidays, and overnight.
8. Answer the shelter phone line andcrisis line promptly, providing accurate information.
9. Adequately document services in Collaborateand daily shift reports; assist residents in completing requests for orders ofprotection.
10. Complete intakes and paperworkwithin 24 hours of residents entering shelter and follow up with daily goals.
11. Assist with processing donations,distribution, storage and inventory.
12. Must be able to lift and walk upand down stairs.
13. Provide transportation,referrals, court accompaniment, and resources for residents.
14. Provide superior communicationwhen interacting with shelter residents utilizing trauma informed care approach.
15. Facilitate support groups andlife skills groups for the women and activity/support groups for the children.
16. Must demonstrate excellentlistening skills, steady temperament, and effective problem-solving techniques.
17. Complete Pee Dee CoalitionVolunteer training within 3 months of employment.
18. Adhere to agency confidentiality,policies, procedures, and code of ethics.
19. Complete Victim Service Providertraining within 1 year of employment.
20. Perform miscellaneous duties asassigned and participate in shelter staff meetings as required.
21. Must possess supervisoryexperience and demonstrate strong leadership skills
