The Relationship Manager upholds all YMCA safety and member service standards while focusing on positive relationships with all YMCA members, staff, volunteers and guests. The Relationship Manager is an ambassador for the YMCA and should ensure delivery of high standards of cleanliness and customer service while creating a welcoming environment for all.

WHAT YOUR DAY MAY LOOK LIKE
No two days are the same in this role but every day centers on creating a welcoming member experience, building meaningful connections, and helping people feel supported, informed, and engaged in all the YMCA has to offer.

  • Welcome members, guests, and participants while delivering exceptional service in person and over the phone
  • Build authentic relationships that create a sense of belonging and connection within the YMCA community
  • Introduce new members to programs, group exercise classes, child care and additional opportunities that match their goals
  • Answer questions and provide guidance on YMCA facilities, services, and equipment
  • Use technology tools to engage members in programs, services, and activities
  • Resolve membership concerns professionally and escalate issues when needed
  • Maintain clean, safe, accessible, and welcoming service areas throughout the facility
  • Communicate effectively with members, coworkers, and leadership to support smooth daily operations
  • Attend meetings, trainings, and development opportunities to stay informed and grow professionally
  • Follow YMCA policies, respond to emergencies, and report safety concerns promptly

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Previous experience in customer service, sales, or related field strongly preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable using Google Workspace tools and iOS devices (iPhone/iPad) to communicate with team members, manage schedules, and complete basic administrative tasks to support daily operations in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment
  • CPR, AED and First Aid Certifications required within 90 days
  • Current Praesidium Academy trainings
