Job description

Evening & Weekend Manager on DutyBritish Swim School – Delafield, WI

Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 3:00–7:30 PM + rotating weekends, 8:00 AM–1:00 PM
Pay: $22–$25/hour, based on experience
Part-Time | Approximately 20–23 hours/week

Be the person who keeps everything running.
British Swim School is looking for a confident, friendly and dependable Manager on Duty to lead our Delafield location during our busy evening and weekend swim lessons.
This isn't a sit-behind-a-desk management position.
You'll be out on the pool deck interacting with families, supporting instructors, solving problems and making sure our swimmers receive an excellent experience from the moment they walk through the door.
You do NOT need an aquatics background. We can teach you our swim program. We're looking for someone who already knows how to work with people, lead a team, solve problems and take ownership.
What You'll Do
As Manager on Duty, you'll be the primary leader at our Delafield location during your shift. You'll:
  • Welcome families and provide outstanding customer service
  • Answer questions and help resolve parent concerns
  • Supervise and support swim instructors and deck staff
  • Coach employees and provide feedback in the moment
  • Make sure lessons are running smoothly and on time
  • Help manage call-offs and unexpected staffing issues
  • Assist families with questions about classes, levels and swimmer progress
  • Monitor the pool deck and overall customer experience
  • Complete required facility, water temperature and water chemistry checks
  • Respond calmly and appropriately when problems arise
  • Communicate important issues and follow-up needs to our leadership team
  • Make sure our Delafield location is organized, professional, welcoming and FUN
Who We're Looking For
You may be a great fit if you've worked in:
Customer service • Hospitality • Restaurants • Retail management • Childcare • Recreation • Fitness • Youth programs • Front desk management • Team leadership

More importantly, we're looking for someone who:
  • Genuinely enjoys working with people
  • Is comfortable talking with parents and families
  • Can handle a frustrated customer without becoming flustered
  • Is confident leading and coaching younger employees
  • Notices problems and takes initiative to solve them
  • Is dependable and understands that our families and staff are counting on them
  • Can stay organized while several things are happening at once
  • Knows when to make a decision and when something needs to be escalated
  • Brings positive energy to the workplace
About British Swim School
We do much more than teach kids how to swim. Our program focuses heavily on water survival and safety skills while helping children become confident, capable swimmers.
Our Delafield location serves families throughout the Lake Country area, and our evening and weekend lessons are some of our busiest times.
That's why this position matters.
When you're the Manager on Duty, you're the person our families and staff can count on.

If you're someone who naturally sees what needs to be done and thinks, "I've got it," we'd love to meet you.
