Locum Tenens | Physician โ€“ Gastroenterology

Location: Midlothian, VA

Practice Setting: Hospital Weekend Call Coverage

Overview

This locum opportunity is seeking a Board-Certified Gastroenterologist to provide weekend hospital call coverage due to lack of coverage. The role includes inpatient consults and required GI procedures, supported by on-site lab and imaging services.

Practice Highlights
  • Weekend hospital call only (Saturday & Sunday)

  • Adult patient population

  • Outpatient Gastroenterology & Internal Medicine experience required

  • Lab and X-ray available on-site

  • No trauma designation

  • EMR: Epic

  • Average ~8 procedures per weekend

  • Esophageal Manometry Interpretation

  • Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) โ€“ Preferred

  • Insertion/management of Sengstakenโ€“Blakemore tube

  • PEG placement

  • Variceal banding, injection, fulguration, foreign body removal

Credentialing
  • Estimated timeframe: ~90 days

Candidate Requirements
  • Board Certified in Gastroenterology โ€“ REQUIRED

  • Active VA license โ€“ REQUIRED

  • ERCP experience โ€“ REQUIRED

  • EUS experience โ€“ Preferred

  • Flu vaccine โ€“ REQUIRED

  • COVID vaccine โ€“ Highly Preferred

  • Must be available for listed open dates โ€“ REQUIRED

  • Clean malpractice history required for temporary privileges โ€“ REQUIRED
