Weekend Casual employees
are the backbone of our mills. They provide a vital service, providing assistance to the tradespersons in ensuring that work is conducted safety, gathering and returning of parts and general clean up as required throughout the site.
We’re looking for Weekend Casual Employees to join our innovative lumber mill located near Vernon, British Columbia. Our Lavington Division is where Tolko’s story began over 60 years ago. Today, at Lavington, we safely and sustainably produce 238 million board feet of lumber per year for customers around the world so they can build their homes and their communities.
Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:

  • Demonstrated commitment to working safely.
  • Mechanical aptitude is considered an asset.
  • Strong communication & interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work 8-hour shifts, including evenings and graveyards.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Previous experience working in an industrial environment is an asset.
  • Previous experience operating a forklift or loader is an asset.

We value diversity at Tolko and know that experience and knowledge come in many forms.  We would love to hear your story and have you grow with us.
In this role, you will:

  • Work independently as part of a high-performance team dedicated safely and efficiently producing lumber products.
  • Perform a variety of labour duties to increase productivity and reduce safety risks.
  • Identify, analyze and troubleshoot any problems that might arise in your area.
  • Work with your Team Lead and Maintenance teams to make sure everything stays on track.

So, what’s in it for you?

  • You’ll take on an exciting new challenge with supportive team members.
  • You’ll earn a competitive wage of $26.90 per hour to start.
  • You’ll be supported in continued development through on-the-job and classroom training.
  • You’ll be part of a positive, innovative, and inclusive work environment

If you want to work in a sustainable, future focused industry, there is no better place than Tolko.  Our family has been producing innovative forest products for over 65 years.  Our focus remains on sustainably managing our forests and our business for upcoming generations.
