Job description

Description and Terms of Employment Under the direction of the Parks & Recreation Director, the Parks Weekend Attendant performs functions necessary for the weekend maintenance of the City's parks and park facilities. This is a seasonal position in September and October. Hours are weekends only, Saturday and Sunday, 7:00-11:00 a.m

Duties and Responsibilities The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive; other duties may be required and assigned. Directs patrons to park areas and provides instruction for use.

Opens and closes park facilities. Picks up litter; cleans rest room facilities; cleans shelters. Assists with special facility arrangements and special events.

Inspects parks, playgrounds, and other facilities on a regular basis. Performs minor repairs and maintenance to equipment, grounds, and any park structures Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age High school diploma or equivalency is desired. Must possess a valid Wisconsin driver's license upon application and maintain such during entire course of employment Knowledge and Abilities Minimum Physical Abilities: Ability to operate a motor vehicle Ability to remove full bags out of trash cans and transport them short distances for disposal Ability to wipe, scrub, sweep, and mop, to clean surfaces Ability to inspect and recognize areas of dirt and messes which need cleaning and broken or unsafe equipment which could be hazardous to users Ability to be outdoors in all weather conditions.
