Job description

Darigold is seeking MaintenanceMechanics to be a part of Darigold’sPasco team.You will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our dairy facility by performing preventive and corrective maintenance on industrial equipment. This position will support operations of a 24/7/365 facility that will produce butter and milk powder.  Candidates must have strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to read and understand technical documents, along with being able to document repairs in a computerized maintenance management software.  

What you will do (other duties may be assigned): 

  • You will be part of a team of maintenance professionals responsible for the execution of preventive maintenance and repair of industrial equipment including production, building, and utility equipment. 
  • Types of equipment will include pumps, valves, separators, RO systems, evaporators, dryers, case packers, palletizers, boilers, chillers, cooling towers, air compressors, forklifts, etc. 
  • Using a Computerized Maintenance Management Software you will log working hours, look up parts, write repair notes, create follow up work orders, and receive your daily work tasks. 
  • Read and follow work orders concerning service, modification, or installation of machinery. 
  • Performs inspection, installation, operation, lubrication, maintenance and repair for general operating conditions or evidence of deterioration; observe and interpret meters and gauges, adjust and repair support & facility equipment. Inspect equipment for safe condition using procedures, and test equipment. 
  • Monitor and operate plant utilities including power distribution, steam generation, chillers, cooling towers, domestic tempered water, plant HVAC systems, water distribution systems, fire suppression, etc. 
  • Maintain a professional working relationship with plant management, operations staff, customers, and vendors. 
  • Perform maintenance work using a variety of hand, shop, and power tools.  

What You Bring: 

  • Knowledge of mechanical systems such as: 
  • Utilities – Electrical, Steam, Air, Water, Wastewater, and Refrigeration 
  • Building systems – HVAC, Fire, Security 
  • Mechanical – Power transmission (gearboxes, chain and sprocket, belt and pulleys, etc.), Pumps, Pneumatics, and Hydraulics. 
  • Experience with repair and maintenance of: 
  • Packaging equipment – Palletizers, case packers, case formers, baggers, stretch wrappers, conveyors, robotics. 
  • Fluid transport and processing – pumps, valves, heat exchangers, separators, evaporators. 
  • Utilities – boilers, chillers, air compressors 
  • Ability to follow food safety regulations and best practices. 
  • Ability to interpret P&IDs, mechanical, and electrical drawings.  
  • Ability to use computerized maintenance management software (CMMS) to document equipment repairs and look up parts. 
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail. 
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft products - Outlook, Word, and Excel. 
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Experience in dairy, beverage, packaging, or food processing industry.  
  • Ability to work effectively with all plant employees and build effective solutions. 
  • Ability to troubleshoot reliability issues in a manufacturing environment in a plant that operates 24/7 
  • Able to lift 50 lbs. routinely / frequently and be able to sit, stand, climb or walk for 12 hours. 
  • Able to work in a loud environment. 
  • Must be willing to work any shift including nights, weekends, and holidays. 

Education, Experience and Certifications: 

  • High school completion or GED 
  • Formal education in a related field preferred  

Nice to Have’s 

  • Experience troubleshooting PLC’s, and controls instrumentation. 
  • Industrial Electrical and controls experience 
  • Strong mechanical and manufacturing experience 
  • Proven sanitary welding experience. 
  • Proven stainless steel fabrication and welding skills. 

Shifts:

Darigold is a 365-day operation. Candidates must be willing to work night shifts, day shifts, weekends and holidays as needed. Shifts are rotating between nights and days. 

Pay:

$33.51 to $44.32 per hour, depending on skills and experience
