Description
Community Health Centers of America is hiring for a Rheumatologist to work in our clinics in the Fresno, CA area. Possibly will also work in contracted long-term care facilities. You will be responsible for diagnosing and treating patients for diseases affecting the joints, muscles, and bones, such as arthritis and autoimmune disorders, independently or as part of a healthcare team, in the clinic setting.

Job Description:
Clinical Duties:
  • Obtain, analyze, and interpret patients' histories, symptoms, physical findings, or diagnostic information to develop appropriate diagnoses.
  • Diagnose and manage a broad range of rheumatic diseases, including arthritis, lupus, gout, and other autoimmune disorders.
  • Recommend diagnostic or therapeutic interventions.
  • Prescribe and administer treatments, monitor patient progress, and adjust medication as needed.
  • Detect and respond to adverse drug reactions.
  • Educate patients and families about self-management of acute or chronic illnesses, medical treatments, medications, etc.
  • Order, perform, or interpret the results of diagnostic testing relevant to rheumatology, including lab results and imaging scans.
  • Conduct in-office procedures such as joint injections.
  • Perform follow-up visits to monitor patients or evaluate health or illness care.
  • Collaborate with primary care and specialty providers to ensure continuity and coordination of care.
  • Provide consultative support to other providers in the clinic and affiliated facilities.

Administrative Duties:
• Maintain complete, accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical team meetings.
• Support the development of clinical protocols and patient education materials.
• Participate in teaching opportunities or case conferences, if applicable.
• Supervise or coordinate patient care or support staff activities.
• Maintain current knowledge of state legal regulations for practice.
• Keep abreast of regulatory processes and payer systems.
• Practice safe and healthy control methods while working with patients.
• Ensure compliance and attention to all corporate policies and procedures.
  • Follow facility and OSHA safety rules and procedures while on assignment
  • Follow facility and GHR Unusual Occurrence Protocol
  • Respect cultural and religious practices of minor patients
  • Uphold HIPAA regulations
  • Punctual and dependent for assigned/confirmed shifts

Requirements
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school and completion of residency program.
  • Completion of an accredited rheumatology fellowship.
  • Board certified or board eligible in Rheumatology.
  • Active medical license or eligibility to obtain licensure in California.
  • 3-5 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Current BLS/ACLS required
  • Current DEA required
  • Experience in a multi-specialty or FQHC setting preferred
  • In depth knowledge of legal medical guidelines and medicine best practices
