Position Summary:
The Logistics Clerk plays a key role in supporting domestic and international shipping operations by coordinating import and export documentation, tracking inbound and outbound shipments, and ensuring compliance with U.S. Customs and other government regulations. This position works closely with carriers, customers, and internal teams to maintain efficient cargo flow, provide shipment updates, prepare Customs documentation, and process freight billing. The ideal candidate has experience with import/export logistics, Customs regulations, tariff classifications, and transportation documentation, along with strong organizational and communication skills.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Generate pick lists and distribute work orders to warehouse personnel.
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, selecting the appropriate shipping method based on destination, timing, and cost.
  • Prepare shipping documentation, including bills of lading and carrier paperwork.
  • Verify shipment accuracy, quantities, and condition before shipping and coordinate the timely movement of products.
  • Enter and maintain shipping information in the ERP system.
  • Monitor shipment schedules and communicate delays or issues to carriers, customers, and management.
  • Work with Customer Service to resolve order discrepancies, including missing or duplicate purchase orders.
  • Maintain shipping records, office supplies, and required documentation.
  • Collaborate with warehouse, customer service, and transportation partners to ensure on-time deliveries.
  • Provide professional customer service by responding to shipping inquiries and resolving routine issues.
  • Assist with cycle counts and annual physical inventory.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and transportation regulations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • High school diploma or GED (preferred)
  • 1–3 years of office, logistics, shipping/receiving, or warehouse administrative experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office; experience using an ERP or other business software is preferred.
  • Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
  • Able to work a full-time, on-site schedule. Typical hours are Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with occasional weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Able to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Able to bend, squat, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds with or without assistive equipment.
  • Able to work in warehouse conditions with temperature extremes, both hot and cold.  Must wear PPE when on the Warehouse floor.
  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment physical and drug screening.
