Position Overview

The Operations & Fuel Dispatch Manager directs BCI’s fleet, logistics, and petroleum delivery operations. This role is responsible for the strategic, end-to-end management of fuel supply chains, inventory optimization, and team leadership to ensure safe, on-time product delivery. The Manager aligns resources to minimize operational costs, mitigate supply risks, maximize customer satisfaction, and guarantee strict DOT and environmental compliance.

  • Analyze sales and operational data to identify market trends, revenue opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Engage directly with customers to understand core needs, building strong relationships that boost client loyalty and retention.

2. Fuel Supply Chain & Inventory Management

  • Inventory Control: Monitor and manage in-ground fuel storage levels at retail and commercial sites to proactively prevent run-outs.
  • Terminal Allocation: Coordinate with fuel terminals, suppliers, and transport partners to track allocations and maintain an uninterrupted product flow.
  • Market Adaptation: Respond dynamically to supply disruptions, terminal queues, and product availability challenges.
  • Loss Prevention: Track and reconcile fuel variances, delivery discrepancies, and inventory shrinkage across the network.

3. Logistics & Fleet Operations

  • Route Optimization: Develop and refine efficient delivery routes to reduce transit costs, optimize fuel burn, and eliminate empty miles.
  • Asset Maintenance: Coordinate vehicle maintenance schedules with dispatch to minimize downtime for the specialized fuel-hauling fleet.
  • Emergency Response: Resolve rapid-fire logistics disruptions, terminal delays, and driver issues in real time.

4. Financial Oversight & Commercial Acumen

  • P&L & Budget Management: Monitor and control direct and indirect fleet expenses, working closely with finance to hit strict margin and cost targets.
  • Resource Optimization: Make data-backed decisions on capital allocation, asset deployment, and scheduling to drive profitability.
  • Financial Support: Assist with fuel budgets, accounts payable, and monthly accruals.

5. Team Leadership & Compliance

  • Talent Management: Recruit, train, schedule, and mentor dispatchers and Hazmat-certified commercial truck drivers across all shifts.
  • Safety & Regulatory Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to DOT safety standards, EPA environmental rules, and hazardous materials (Hazmat) transport protocols.

  • Core Competencies: Exceptional crisis communication, multi-tasking, and tactical problem-solving under tight delivery windows.
  • Availability: Flexibility to support a 24/7 petroleum logistics environment, including weekends, holidays, or on-call shifts as needed.
